Benjamin Hills/Pleasant Valley Neighborhood Association The Benjamin Hills/Pleasant Valley Neighborhood Association (BHPVNA) was founded in December of 1995. It is bounded on the east, from 21st to 29th Streets, by the Little Arkansas River, west on 29th to Amidon, north on Amidon to the floodway, west to Interstate 235, the south by the Arkansas River. It's mission statement is "In all its activities and relationships to seek and to enhance the quality of life of the residents and to improve the appearance and safety of the neighborhood."
This neighborhood is quiet with diverse residents that enjoy the peacefulness of the area. A walk or drive though the area reveals all ages of homes and people. A friendly wave from couples walking or driving in the area is commonplace and neighborly conversations are daily occurrences. Our police force by way of our community police officer assures us that our crime rate is low, this being a direct result of Law Enforcement's diligence and of the people's pride in and desire to maintain the neighborhood.
Some of the BHNA's yearly activities include, monthly meetings, a garage sale weekend, a cleanup weekend, neighborhood block parties and nights out. Many neighbors get together once or twice a year to visit and air problems that are of concern to their particular area of the association.
We are a grassroots organization, involved in the political and bureaucratic issues, including the District Advisory Board. With this involvement, we are able to stay current on all fronts and are able to quickly act on any subject that may be of concern to the neighborhood.
