Southwest Neighborhood Association Southwest Neighborhood Association (SWNA) began in 1996 during a period when cruising on Seneca was at its peak. With the cruising came crime and the concerns were high. Citizens banned together to work with the cruisers to provide guidelines for a safe area to cruise. During this time frame, the neighborhood parade was established as a means for cruisers, community, and police officers to work together on a project. Cruising is now almost a thing of the past; however, the parade continues every year. Crime has also decreased; the Neighborhood Patrol still monitors and meets regularly SWNA also works closely with police officers in cleanups. Clean up efforts for people who are physically or financially unable are done on a frequent basis. During the holidays, SWNA works with community policing to deliver food and toys. We are active in community affairs such as Community Reconnection, Racial Profiling committee, serving on the oral review board (Police Dept) Amenities: Osage Park Number of Homes:Serving approx 3,000 residences Public School District: Wichita Public Schools |
